Inauguration Day Excitement

Although I did not vote for the president-elect and feel that our country has made a HUGE mistake out of selfishness, I am somewhat excited about Inauguration Day. Not that I'm excited about the day itself, but Krispy Kreme is giving away a free doughnut to every customer tomorrow for the auspicious occasion. I know it is in celebration of the new president, the hype of the day, the excitement of "change" and all that jazz. But for me, it'll just make me feel better about the day, the dread of change to come, and all that jazz.

So, tomorrow I'll be at Krispy Kreme with my kids, ordering four chocolate, cream filled doughnuts while the TV events being broadcasted around the world are showing the Inauguration. Might as well get SOMETHING good out of tomorrow!

The other night when Bruce and I went to practice with some groups at the church, we noticed the Lord painted a sky just for me!


Remember when Bruce had a bright idea that wasn't so bright and the hood on my car and the roof of my car were dented? Well, Justin took it to school today and was able to work on it to get the dent off the roof.


I admit that I was a little nervous for him to take it. You know...would he bring it home with a crack in the windshield or the roof torn off. But the work was not as extensive as I thought it would be.

When he brought it back, he had pulled the dent out, puttied the holes, and primed the area to be repainted. Best of all, it was FREE!

Now..........who's gonna paint it?

Revival With Brother Larry Brown

The kids and I were happy to attend a revival meeting at a sister church to hear Brother Larry Brown last night. He's a friend of our Pastor and a great preacher. We love to hear him. So we were pretty excited to go.

It was good to see sweet people that we know.

The adult choir sang first.

There were faces in the choir that we know and love!

The children's choir sang when the adults came down.

This little one sang out with his little heart.

A men's trio sang and they were good. I really enjoyed them. The 1611 Boys were there too, but I didn't get a picture of them. I did get a video which I'll share at another time.

Pastor Goodman was being blessed too! :)


It's always good to attend local services and see "old" friends.

And then Brother Brown preached. He knows how to get on your level when he's preaching. I think that's what I like about him. He knows. You know?

His sermon was titled:

How To Know When You Have Left Your First Love

*When your salvation no longer consumes you.

~It no longer matters to you that your sins have been erased, blood covered, and gone!

~You use every little excuse you can think of to stay home from the house of God because your salvation doesn't depend on it anyway.

~Have you been saved so long that you're used to it? How long has it been since you've been so excited about doing something for God that you've asked your Pastor, "What can I do?"

~Will you say NO to God?

*When souls don't concern you any longer.

~people who are saved know others need to be saved.

~If someone you know says the world can go to Hell, chances are...they're going there with 'em. Saved people don't want to see others go to Hell.

*When sin doesn't convict you.

~When it's easier to do what pleases yourself instead of what pleases Him, you've lost your first love.

*When the second coming doesn't challenge you.

~You know he's coming and yet you're doing nothing to get ready for Him.

Revival Tonight and Brother Pittman

Brother Pittman went home to be with the Lord last night around 10:00 pm. All the years he spent traveling up and down the roads, evangelizing and telling others about Christ, living by faith and hope in Christ, became a reality for him last night. Praise the Lord! Please remember his family in prayer.

To those of you wondering about revival tonight, I sent you emails letting you know I would not be on the van, but would be at revival. I hope to see you there!

Frank Pittman

Please pray for Brother Frank Pittman. He's a wonderful evangelist, that is getting ready to meet the Lord at any time. Here he is singing in the hospital after being told just a few weeks ago that he had inoperable cancer. He was the Pastor of the school and school superintendent of the Christian school I attended from seventh to twelfth grade. Please pray for his family.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Twinmama and her family visiting our church tonight. I was so thrilled to see them walk through the doors. I hope they enjoyed the services as much as we enjoyed having them there. I was a bad blogger though, and did not get a picture of them. Maybe NEXT time.

Here is a new group in the making! Me, Dana, and Missy. I had fun tonight practicing with them. I think it's going to work out nicely.


Brother Chris is a great bass player. He also plays the Dobro in the bluegrass group. But I have to say he was quite on cloud nine tonight as he gleefully talked with a grimacing Bruce about the Panther's loss to the Cardinals. Aren't Christians supposed to encourage and uplift one another?


I like this picture, although a little blurry, of Brother Arnold. He is such a wonderful Christian and our church loves him so much. He's sitting here reading his Bible, which is something you'll see him doing often. He is also a prayer warrior!

After church tonight, Sigma had an afterglow of pizza, desserts, and silliness. Speaking of silly, here is my friend Crystal. Nice, huh?

Logan did NOT want his picture taken, but after chasing him around his mother's skirt a few times, I GOT him!

And last but not least, here is a picture of Mrs. Liz's sister. She's down visiting from Massachusetts (am I correct) and this was the only pic I got of her. Sorry, Liz! Anyway, it was nice to have her and her friend visiting with us today.

And here's a little bit of one of our groups singing That's the Grace Way. Hope you had a terrific Sunday. We sure did, seeing the alter full and one saved tonight! You know what? That's the grace way!

Panormous

The children spent Friday night with my parents taking down their Christmas decorations and tree to put them back into the storage building. And to also spend some time with them. When I picked them up this morning for bus church, their living room looked so much bigger. It's funny how much room a Christmas tree takes up.

While the children were gone, I went with Bruce to run his errands. Funny how his errands sometime include his favorite pawn shop and music store, which is conveniently located in the basement of the pawn shop.

We made our way to the basement where Bruce has been drooling over a rather nice guitar. It did, indeed, have a nice sound. When he begins to itch for a new guitar, he simply visits a music store and plays one or two...or five or six...guitars and the playing scratches that itch away. For a while anyway. ha!


Before going home we stopped to eat at Pizza Hut.


No make up! Don't tell.


We ordered the new Panormous, which Bruce had fun saying over and over again. Finding ways to use it in a sentence. The poor waitress had to hear him use the word several times also. lol

It's been a panormous day today and I am tired. I took a nap while Bruce watched the Panthers lose to Arizona. I woke up a few times, but just couldn't get my eyes to widen and focus as much as they should and ended up falling back to sleep each time. I could definitely go back to sleep now. So, goodnight!

This was taken at the El Titanic Restaurant a few days after Christmas. Bruce and I were walking in when Brother Joel and his family pulled into the parking lot and so we ate together. I had my new camera with me and snapped pictures of everyone. This one included.
