A New Blog

I started a new blog. It's called, Just Picture It.

This is where I'll start posting my pictures for klm Photography.

The first post on this blog is in memory of Army Sgt Christopher Newman, killed by a suicide bombing in Afghanistan.

Sgt Newman grew up in Shelby and attended Bethel Baptist Church. I know he will be missed by his friends and family. I am truly thankful for the sacrifice he gave for our country.

My prayers are with his wife and family.

SS Cookout and A New Blog

Also, my honeykins has written his first blog post at Transformations. I'm so glad. I love it when he writes. Although, I'll admit, this may very well open a Pandora's Box, so to speak. There's no telling what he'll write about. He's extremely blunt and believes in telling it the way it is. Hence his URL http://brucetellingitlikeitis.blogspot.com

This and That

I did not resolve to blog more frequently than I have as of late, however, I do want to try. I have not been the good blogger I once was. LOL BUT! We'll see what happens.

Bruce won't let anyone in the attic except for himself in order to keep.....order. So I'm still waiting for my Christmas boxes to be brought down in order to put things back to.....order......around here. I loved my Christmas tree when we put it up. Now it's looking rather dull and I'm ready to see it gone. Here it is January 6 and this is it for me. This is my goal date each year. The sixth of January!!! If the boxes don't come down tonight I will take this tree, not caring that it is artificial, and I will plant it in my back yard! I'd rather do that than nag.

Late last night I made rice crispy treats after mentioning to Arlene that butterscotch chips were good when mixed in with the treats. Of course I did not have butterscotch chips on hand, but I did have all the other stuff. So when everyone had breakfast this morning, rice crispy treats seemed to be the one thing on the menu they all agreed upon. Hey, don't judge me as a mother. It's made with cereal and cereal is a breakfast food!!

I've been reading Washington's Lady by Nancy Moser and have enjoyed it so much! She is a history fiction writer. This book is taken from the perspective of Martha Washington. As I read it, I feel as though she is speaking directly to me, telling me the story of her life. It has been great! I get in chapter a night...possibly two. Depending on my time and how tired I am. But I look forward to lighting a candle and crawling in bed each night so I can read the next chapter. Not that I read by candle light. I just like the smell of cinnamon...or vanilla...or pumpkin...while I'm settling in for the night. Not to mention the ambiance. Anyway, if you haven't read this book, you need to pick it up somewhere. I am sure the local book stores would have a copy of it.

And thus concludes my blog for today. Back to homeschooling, cleaning, laundry, cooking, church...in that order! :)

When Two Blog Worlds Collide

I was so excited about church tonight, knowing that I was going to meet my blog friend, Frog, from Frog's Lilypad, her son Hot Shot, and her husband, Fireball! They're on their way to church planting in Montana. Visiting different churches along the way, they stopped in our little neck of the woods and visited our church tonight.

It's not often we bloggers get to meet each other. I mean, we step into each other's cyber-world through reading about each other's lives. And when the time comes to meet a fellow blogger, it's an exciting experience. Especially when they're brothers and sisters in Christ. I wasn't at all disappointed. I have a feeling if Frog lived closer, we would be such good friends. She has a sweet laugh and I could tell she had a sweet spirit too.

I'm sorry, Frog, but I just had to post both these family pics of y'all. See, when we took this first one, we noticed Frog's eyes were closed. So we decided to take the second one.


We were pleased with this one, after all, Frog's eyes are open. But focusing on this picture and whether or not her eyes were closed, we totally ignored the fact that Hot Shot was playing with his eyes. Fireball seemed to be the only one who knew how to keep his eyes opened for the camera. ROFL


Frog, I was so happy to meet you and your family tonight. I don't know if we'll ever see each other again this side of Heaven, but I'm glad the Lord allowed our paths to cross tonight. And it was wonderful!

I'll be praying for y'all as you travel and prepare to finish that course Fireball was talking about tonight!
